It includes the streetcar form, installation on a concrete pad, 2 plaques on the installation pad honoring the sponsor and the artist, de-installation at the end of approximately 12 months, your sculpture and company logo featured on artLOUD.org for 12 months, and two tickets to our Preview Party presented by Yacht StarShip.
There will be a variety of prize categories for the best of the best, including streetcars that most represent Tampa and the most creative. Winners of the challenge will be announced at the Preview Party.
After 12 months of display in downtown Tampa, the streetcar is yours. You can display it at your offices or auction it off. You can also donate it and CREW may re-install it based on space availability.
We will need all sculptures by October 1 in advance of the tentative October 15th Preview Party date, so that the sculptures can be prepped for their bases and staged for the Preview Party. CREW will then install the streetcars shortly after the Preview Party, which coincides with Tampa Design Week 2015 and the Streetcar’s Anniversary.
About 4 to 6 weeks, which is why they must be ordered by June 30. We will do our best to have all sculptures available by the end of July or beginning of August so you have a month and a half to possibly two months to design and paint your sculpture.
Streetcars will be featured on CREW artLOUD’s Facebook Page, on other social media outlets, on artLOUD.org, and in maps that we will create showing sculpture locations. There are plans for including these maps in various guides and other promotional materials for the area provided that funding for the project will cover these costs. We will also do media buys and seek promotions on other visitor forums and local outlets to promote the streetcars and their sponsors to the greatest extent possible. The regular and significant recognition of the streetcars benefits artLOUD! and our sponsors alike.
CREW Tampa Bay provides a forum for women in commercial real estate to do business together and educates and elevates our members to be recognized as the experts in the industry.
Most of the sponsorship funds go toward the sculpture itself; shipping, creation of a concrete base and poles for secure installation, installing and de-installing the sculpture, and advertisements promoting the sculptures (including artLOUD.org). Remaining funds go to benefit the Tampa Streetcar, future artLOUD! programs, and to support CREW Tampa Bay in its mission to promote women in the commercial real estate industry.
We welcome your input on where you would like your sculpture located. Unfortunately, to accommodate property owners and facilitate City needs within the City rights of way, we cannot guarantee locations. However, we endeavor to locate your sculpture where you desire, so please let us know your preferences.
The City of Tampa has been a tremendous supporter of the various artLOUD! programs for years. As in past years, the City will review, approve, and permit the sculpture locations and make sure all sculpture designs are acceptable for public right of way.
The sculpture must be appropriate for all ages and an original artwork. Other than that, use your imagination! Everyone needs to provide a sketch of their concept for our review prior to beginning to paint the sculpture. If we note problems with the sketch, we will let you know and talk about how the design can be modified to make sure the City art reviewers do not have any concerns about its display in the public right of way.
The manufacturer will provide a tip sheet that should cover most questions about getting the best artistic results. All streetcars should anticipate doing a UV protective top coat to last the year or more in the Florida sunshine. We highly recommend doing an automotive grade clear coat as the finish. While this will run around $100, it will not fade or turn yellow as some cheaper top coats may.
It is your choice! If you are a budding artist (or someone else with your organization is), you are free to do so. Or, you can make it a team building exercise for the office. You can also hire from our list of artists who will handle most designs for $250-$500, depending on the complexity of your chosen design.
The sculptures are a polyurethane blend with plastic binders.
